Guerrilla Information War

THE GUERRILLA INFORMATION WAR IS HERE!

World War III is a guerrilla information war with no division between military and civilian participation.” -Marshall McLuhan

This quote is from 1970. Marshall McLuhan wasn’t being poetic. He was describing an environmental condition he had seen decades ago. The Electric Age had arrived and dissolved the front line entirely, folding the battlefield into every screen, feed, and platform you use to think. There’s no separation between the civilian and military sides to this war. You’re already in it, whether you know it or not, whether you understand it or not, whether you care or not.

This section of The Whirl of ReOrientation is where we think that through with discipline — how this war shapes what you see and fail to see, how it bends your sense of time, threat, trust, and possibility, and what it means to lead others when the medium itself is the battlefield.

The articles here are built to sharpen your ability to recognize the patterns behind events, the tactics behind tone, and the environments behind opinions. Work through them, and you’ll start seeing the moves before they land.

Then make better ones.
